Research interests
The main research interest involves the impact of essential food constituents and food contaminants in the background of pregnancy, with the focus on the toxic trace element mercury and essential trace elements. Particularly highlighted will be investigations on adverse outcomes of metal overexposure on cellular structures of the placenta, taking environmental and nutritional exposure into account.
